This Present Mom

My name is Rebecca,

I love my little family, my faith, home, and beauty.  I love to create, garden, read, and learn with my kids, and I don’t know what I’m thinking until I write it down.

To play the wrong note is insignificant, to play without passion is inexcusable”…. Ludwig Van Beethoven

I am a work in progress.  I was raised in a very large conservative, fundamental  Christian family, and while I have rejected many things about the way I grew up, - I have  never left my faith, and am daily learning what it means to live what I believe in this messy modern world.

What  I am today is not all I’ll ever be…

I can be an  up-tight, responsible, perfectionist, - who has found that if I let it; -  being a mom reminds me how  to explore the world with the soul of an artist, the heart of a dreamer, and awe filled curiosity of a child.

I will hold myself to a standard of grace, not perfection….

I want to raise my children in a way that inspires them to greatness.  I believe each of us has something unique and needed to offer those around us. I believe in dreams and hard work. I believe each of us can and do make a difference.

“When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left,    and could say, - “I used everything you gave me”….  Erma Bombeck

In the midst of a busy, stressful, and fast paced world, - I hope to encourage, inform and inspire you. Hugs from one present Mom to another,

“He who works with his hands is a laborer.

He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman.

He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist.”   --St Fancis of Assisi
